The Power Electronic Systems Laboratory (PES, Prof. Dr. Johann W. Kolar) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich/Switzerland is constantly looking for outstanding individuals with a Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics interested in carrying out research in collaboration with international industry partners.

The Power Electronics System Laboratory has a job opening for an experienced Power Electronics Engineer at the Research Associate (Oberassistent) level which provides a high visibility in academia and industry. The successful candidate will collaborate with research personnel within the institute, coordinate research projects, co-supervise Master and Ph.D. students, prepare applications for research funding and scientific publications, and support our teaching activities.

Education

The ideal candidate has received a Ph.D. from a recognized university, has a strong research record, and at least 5 years of R&D lab or industry experience. Only candidates with expertise on a scientific level in most of the following areas are invited to apply: -AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC PWM converter systems –Modeling, simulation and multi-objective optimization including electromagnetic and thermal analysis -DSP and analogue control design and implementation -Design and experimental analysis of power electronic systems -EMC –Design and control of AC machines.
